Best places to walk your dog in Cobourg

Cobourg may be best known for our beautiful beach however we have some of the most beautiful places to enjoy the outdoors with our dogs. Below are a few of my favourite places around Cobourg to take my girls.

I didn't just pick this spot because the name is super fitting. You'll find several different trails to take here. There are shorter trails (under 2k) and longer loops as well. Just make sure to follow the signs so you don't end up lost!

I have a love/hate relationship with dog parks and have been to several over the years (both good and bad). Cobourg has one of the best dog parks I've visited by far. It's large enough that dogs aren't bumping into each other, there's a nice little trail loop to walk around with your pup that includes shade on the hot summer days. They've also just fenced off a smaller section of the park for small or shy dogs which is perfect if your pup is easily overwhelmed.

Tucked away to the West of the busy Cobourg beaches, this is a great spot to go for a quieter walk and enjoy the views with your dog. The walk from Hibernia to Ontario isn't far and there's a dog friendly section tucked away if you're willing to brave the pebbles. There's usually lots of parking in the lot to the East and you may be able to find parking along Hibernia Street.

This park may be famous for their beautiful boardwalk surrounded by marshland but there are also over 16km of trails to explore with your pup.

Not all trails are created equal! Personally, I've found that these trails are a little more hilly but if you get to the top, you can enjoy a pretty nice view. Not too crowded and lots of options with clearly marked signage.
